How to use Window Bar – Instructions

  1. Twist top of Window Bar to open battery compartment. Insert the required 23A 12V battery and close battery compartment.

  2. Twist to unlock. This allows you to adjust the length of your Window Bar.

  3. Close sliding window or patio door. Adjust the size of the Window Bar to fit into your sliding window or patio door frame, then twist to lock again. Now place into the track of your sliding window. Note: Hand tighten, over tightening may damage Window Bar.

Universal Clip –  Instructions

Important - Read and understand instructions prior to installation. Master Lock is not liable for any damages or loss that may result from the installation of this product. We recommend that you test your battery regularly and replace it annually.

Package Contents:
2 – # 8 Phillips 3/4" screws. * 2 – # 8 Phillips 1–5/8" screws.* 1 – Block ** 1 – Universal Clip

* Pre–drilling a 1/16" pilot hole recommended.
** Dual function: use as a spacer Block in window frames with a channel, or, as a stop Block for outside sliding patio doors & large sliding windows.

Vertical Sliding Window – Universal Clip

Figure 1 and 2 for Vertical Sliding Window
  1. Close Window.
  2. Choose location to install clip (figure 1 or figure 2).
  3. Place Universal Clip in position.
  4. Mark location of screw holes. Pre–drilling a 1/16" pilot hole is recommended.
  5. Figure 1 – Use your Phillips screwdriver and the two 3/4" screws to attach the Universal Clip. Do not screw into glass.
  6. Figure 2 – Use your Phillips screwdriver and the two 1–5/8" screws to attach the Universal Clip if Block is needed. Use 3/4" screws if Block is not needed.

Outside Sliding Patio Door – Block & Universal Clip

  1. Place Universal Clip into position as displayed in Figure 3. Ensure Window Bar is in–line with Block.
  2. Mark location of screw holes. Pre–drilling a 1/16" pilot hole is recommended.
  3. Use your Phillips screwdriver and the two 3/4" screws to attach the Universal Clip. Do not screw into glass.

  1. Close patio door and position Block as displayed in Figure 4.
  2. Leave 1/8" of space on the bottom and right side between frame and block.
  3. Mark location of screw holes. Pre–drilling a 1/16" pilot hole is recommended.
  4. Use your Phillips screwdriver and the two 1–5/8" screws to attach the Block. Do not screw into glass.

Large Inside Sliding Window – Block

  1. Close window.
  2. Open Window Bar 3 inches and lock.
  3. Place Window Bar into frame.
  4. Mark location of screw holes. Pre–drilling a 1/16" pilot hole is recommended.
  5. Use your Phillips screwdriver and the two 1–5/8" screws to attach the Block.

Inside Sliding Window – Universal Clip

  1. Place Universal Clip into position as displayed in Figure 6 or 7.
  2. Mark location of screw holes. Pre–drilling a 1/16" pilot hole is recommended.
  3. Figure 6 – Use your Phillips screwdriver and the two 1–5/8" screws to attach the Universal Clip if Block is needed.
  4. Figure 7 – Use your Phillips screwdriver and the two 3/4" screws to attach the Universal Clip. Do not screw into glass.
